A Young Practitioner's Cultivation Path

Greetings, respected Master!

Greetings to fellow practitioners, especially young ones!

I am from Shandong Province, and I want to share my experiences in cultivation and validating Falun Dafa at this Third Internet Cultivation Experience Sharing Conference for Practitioners in China. I wish our conference great success!

Throughout history, countless numbers of people with integrity were eager to seek the Dao. They claimed, "A person could die contently in the evening as long as he had found the Dao in the morning." Buddha Sakyamuni taught sentient beings "Precept, Samadi, and Wisdom" with mercy. Laozi taught his Dao and told people, "My compassion encompasses both kind people and wicked people. That is the virtue of compassion." Confucius treated people with kind manners and persuaded them to cultivate "Righteousness, Integrity, Respect, Wisdom, and Trust." Nevertheless, none their teachings could save the beings from being lost in the maze. At this time, a ray of serene light shone forth from the universe, and our Compassionate and Venerable Master came to our human world to save us with the highest principles of the cosmos--"Truth-Compassion-Forbearance." Countless lost souls found their way home and ended their pursuit that had lasted life after life. Whether you are a man or a woman, old or young, we all are on the path of cultivation.

I was always very weak and sick when I was very young. I often visited doctors, and they remembered me if I managed to avoid going to the hospital for a whole month. I used to take medications by the handful. I learned how to swallow bitter medicines without chewing them at three years old. One day, my aunt told my mother, "There is a very nice qigong exercise that seems to be very good. Why don't you have your son learn it?" In this way my mother and I became Falun Dafa disciples.

I never missed group exercises, even when it was stormy. Soon the body purification process started, and I vomited and had diarrhea. I told everyone proudly, "Master is taking care of me!" I felt a warm current flowing throughout my body, and I clearly felt the Falun quickly revolving in my lower abdominal area. For the first time in my life, I experienced the carefree feeling of not having any illnesses. It was such a wonderful practice; how could we stop practicing it? My mother and I were both determined to follow Master and solidly cultivate Falun Dafa. We live this lifetime but once, and it is so hard to find the path of cultivating to goodness and upgrading xinxing. Since we had found it, we would cultivate to the end and never stop.

Thus, I follow the law of Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance in my daily life; when I am faced with insults at school, the first thing I remember is Master's words in Zhuan Falun:

"But we've said that as a practitioner, you shouldn't hit back when attacked, or talk back when insulted--you should hold yourself to a high standard."

I listen to Master's teaching tapes, recite Lunyu, and do the exercises whenever I have time. I thought in my heart, "Master, I will follow your requirements and solidly and diligently cultivate." My xinxing upgraded, my realm ascended, my grades in school improved, and I had very good health. Even my appearance improved. My schoolteachers and classmates all noticed my changes. It was Falun Dafa that created a new me: a young boy who keeps Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance in mind, and who will not hit back when attacked or talk back when insulted. I cultivated diligently on my way to my original true-self.

People cannot forget that in July 1999 an evil force came from the sky, and all of the media in China slandered Falun Dafa, following Jiang's scoundrel persecution. Lies covered the earth and sky, deceiving so many people and causing them to be against Falun Dafa. All of society was filled with evil factors. It was like living in a nightmare. We could not believe that such a good practice was being banned by the government. As I watched the slanderous programs on the television, I wept. After work, my mother told me that we should be strong, not fall into sadness, and step out to clarify the truth to people in all walks of the society. So my mother and I and many other practitioners came out of our homes, clarifying the truth in all different ways and exposing the evil.

One day, after a winter snowfall, my mother and I went to a suburban area to hang banners and pass out truth-clarifying materials. I chose a tree on the roadside, but the tree was too tall, so my mother helped me stand on top of the bike. As I held onto the top of her head and the banner, I felt like I was a giant man touching the sky and earth. I hung that banner on the highest branch. The huge tree had radiance reflecting from the snow-covered ground because it carried Falun Dafa practitioners' sincere wish to save sentient beings.

The houses in the suburbs are irregularly spaced, and the roads are in bad condition. My mother pushed her bike and I followed her as we walked over the snowy mounds. We gave materials to every household. If someone opened the gate, I greeted them politely and handed them the materials. Although the people were scared, they were also very grateful, and they all were pleased to accept the materials. Once we got lost and walked into a dead-end. Suddenly, dogs were barking all around us. I was a little tense. My mother asked me, "Are you scared?" I said, "No, Master is protecting us." We soon found the main road.

In the past seven years of Fa-rectification period cultivation, my mother and I have traveled everywhere in our city.

After I was admitted to the province's best high school, I grew up a lot and enlightened to many more Fa-principles. I especially had a deeper understanding of clarifying the truth. One day after lunch, I was walking back to the school and saw a beggar kneeling on the roadside. He was about the same age as me. I handed him a coin and tried to leave quickly. Suddenly, I remembered Master's words in To the European Fa Conference in Stockholm,

"Everything in the world was established and created for the Fa-rectification, and Dafa disciples are the great figures of our time. Since ancient times the beings in all realms have waited in anticipation. Gather up and rescue the beings that you are to save!"

I enlightened that he was one of the sentient beings that a Dafa practitioner should save. All the hardships that he had endured in this life were for obtaining the Fa. Lives are precious, and we should not leave a single life behind. So I sat besides him, and talked sincerely with him even though people gave me strange looks.

I asked him, "Do you know about Falun Gong?" His eyes brightened instantly, and he replied, "Yes, I often see their postings on the wall." I clarified the truth to him and told him to remember, "Falun Dafa is good" in order to have a good future. He nodded his head with gratitude. I was very happy because another being was saved. I walked another step on my path to validating Falun Dafa.

Falun Dafa has given each practitioner wisdom, including me. I am very skilled with computers, and I often help other practitioners with Dafa work. I know that this is my mission, and it was Falun Dafa that granted me the wisdom and the ability.

I still have many attachments that I need to get rid of in Fa-rectification period cultivation, such as the attachment to fame and seeking praise but disliking criticism. Master said in "Teaching the Fa in the City of Los Angeles:"

"Be sure to pay heed! From this point on, whoever can't take criticism is not being diligent, whoever can't take criticism is not displaying the state of a cultivator, or at least on this issue."

Also, I still have the mentality of laziness, being too slow, etc. I will correct them all so that Master can worry less.

I have practiced for 12 years now. I believe that under Master's benevolent protection I can get rid of attachments and finish my path as a Falun Dafa practitioner in the Fa-rectification period using the wisdom that Dafa has bestowed upon me.
