I am a Falun Gong practitioner from Longtan Lake in Yilan. I am fifty-seven years old and work as a hairdresser. Before I took up the practice of Falun Gong, due to the unhappy marriage I had earlier on and my sickly body, I was like a caged bird, complaining about my bitter life all day long. The biggest pastime in my life was playing cards with my friends to distract my attention away from the pain in my body and mind. Except while at work, I passed the time watching TV and didn't think about the future at all.

The heavy burden of being a single mother made life even more difficult. I relied on medicine to control my pain and had to sit while washing customers' hair because I could not stand for long. My health declined steadily. I was tormented by bleeding from the kidney, an ovarian tumor, headaches, osteoporosis in my knee requiring treatment with steroids every three months, sciatic pain, and tonsillitis. I needed injections every other day and took antibiotics every day. I would get a fever if I did not take the medicine. Day after day, I lived with great difficulty.

August 2, 2001 was the turning point of my life. On this day, I was fortunate to join Falun Dafa cultivation, and I obtained a new life. The day before I obtained Fa, my older sister and I walked together. I could not even keep up with her, and when she asked, I told her of my physical maladies. She then recommended Falun Gong to me.

I thought about it for a whole day. I needed to read books if I learned Falun Gong, but I did not know many Chinese characters. It would take me days just to learn a single character. What should I do? A miracle occurred. On the day I obtained the Fa, when I read Zhuan Falun for the first time, I was stunned. After I looked up new characters in the dictionary and wrote them down a few times, I remembered them easily. On the first day, I wrote eighteen rows of new characters. After three days, I had already learned more than 50 characters. I learned 500 new characters in a month. I read Zhuan Falun three times in two months, which was miraculous for me.

In the first five years of practicing Falun Gong, I got up at 4 a.m. every day. I rode a train for 15 minutes to Yuanshan Park to do the exercises. Regardless of the weather, I never missed a day, arrived late, or left early. In October 2006, I set up a practice spot near Longtan Lake in Yilan. I hoped that more people would come to know the peace and greatness of Falun Dafa. Because my third eye is open, I could sense Master waiting for me at the spot every day. If I was late, Master's Law Body would disappear. After work, studying the Fa and doing the exercises became my life's focus. I treated the universe's characteristic of Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance as the guiding principle of my life. As I improved my xinxing accordingly, it felt as if my human shell was removed and I became a different person.

Before I obtained Dafa, I would get a fever whenever I did not take medicine. I did not experience that after the first day of practice, and I did not take antibiotics anymore. After six months, I had a high fever suddenly, and I knew that this was an opportunity to eliminate karma and improve "xinxing", so I did not take medicine. I have now truly recovered for good. During the first three days of practice, I began to purify my body. Very strong energy coursed through my whole body for three days. The edema that had been plaguing me for almost two years improved. The kidney problem that I'd had for fifteen years disappeared after four months. My migraines, which I had for 27 years, also disappeared. I had a bone spur on my heel that made wearing shoes difficult, and that went away too. In addition, the presbyopia, hand perspiration and sciatic pain also vanished, and I no longer needed steroid injections. On June 16, 2003, my ovarian tumor was expelled from my body without blood as I went to the bathroom. It was three centimeters around. This was an absolutely real miracle.

Besides the diseases vanishing, my appearance also gradually changed. Before, I had difficulty walking. After I studied Falun Gong, my skin became luminous and ruddy, my white hair was not so white, and I walked vigorously. Five years ago, my friend and I went to Malaysia to go sightseeing. As we walked around, I felt that my body was light. Sometimes, when the phone rang at home, I ran to it down the stairs. Even my dog was surprised to see how I ran down, instead of how I used to hold on to the wall as I ambled down the stairs.

Three years ago, I borrowed land from one of my neighbors and attempted to plant vegetables. The first time I took up the hoe to till the soil, I was very excited. I, who was unable to hold heavy items for a long time, took up the hoe with such ease. In these years, I have truly become another person. When I distributed truth-clarification materials, some friends that I met said that I was so different. Now my face is ruddy, which is unlike my prior dark appearance. I said that I got it from practicing Falun Gong, and they encouraged me to keep going.

During these years, Master gave me a lot of encouragement. Every day, I see images of how the Fa refines a person. One month ago when I sent forth righteous thoughts, I did not close my eyes. I saw Master's Law Body and Falun, which was sent out like fire. After fifteen minutes, when I turned off the light, the whole wall shined and it revolved for an hour. My experience is that not sending righteous thoughts had serious consequences. When I sent forth righteous thoughts for only ten minutes, and when I held one palm erect and did not have the lotus hand position, I would be badly harassed by the evil as I slept. If all practitioners seriously sent forth righteous thoughts, perhaps the evil would already have been eliminated completely.

After I studied Falun Gong, I was freed from my previous life of misery. Falun Dafa has opened up my wisdom and brightened my life. I'd like to proclaim to the whole world: Falun Dafa is good!
