Police Arrest Ms. Ning Li to Make Way for Communist Leader's Arrival in Liaoning Province
(Clearwisdom.net) At around 4 p.m. on July 6, 2009, police from the
Bayuquan District Domestic Security Division broke into practitioner Ms. Ning
Li's home in Xiongyue Town. They then took her to the Bayuquan Domestic Security
Division. Afterwards, someone revealed that CCP leader Xi Jinping was scheduled to
visit the region to do inspections on the morning of July 7, 2009. Everywhere he
went, the security was heightened. No person or car was allowed to pass.
Practitioners living near the streets where Xi went by were arrested. Guotun
Village, Xiongyue Town, where Ms. Ning lived, was one of the inspection sites. In the afternoon on July 6, 2009, the police began to clear the roads and
continued until the morning of July 7, 2009. The entire Xiongyue region was in a
state of heightened security. There were police present at every intersection,
especially the area surrounding Guotun Village. Every intersection was closed to
cars and pedestrians. Regular and plainclothes officers were everywhere.
According to sources, plainclothes officers from the Domestic Security Division
were already performing "security defense" work in Guotun Village a
month ago. At around 7 p.m. on the night of the arrest, staff from the Bayuquan Domestic
Security Division called Ms. Ning's home twice and told family members to bring
money. Family members heard Ms. Ning saying, "We have no money." The
first call came from a landline phone: 86-417-6217005. The second call was from
a cellphone: 86-13841750007. Ms. Ning Li's family went to the division at around 9 p.m., but they had
already left work. The gate guard told them that Ms. Ning was being detained at
the Bayuquan Detention Center. The family went there, but the detention center
authorities said that they did not have a jail for women. Ms. Ning was
transferred to the Yingkou City Detention Center at around 7 p.m. that night. Since the persecution of Falun Gong began in 1999, the Bayuquan Domestic
Security Division has extorted countless amounts of money from practitioners'
family members, ranging from several thousand to tens of thousands of yuan.
After they took the money, they would released the practitioner. If there was no
or insufficient payment, then the practitioner would be sentenced. In the morning on July 7, 2009, the family arrived at the Yingkou City
Detention Center and asked to see Ms. Ning. The detention center guard asked for
money, but the family members refused to pay. When they eventually saw Ms. Ning
and asked her what had happened, she said that the police had arrived at her
home and found a CD when they went inside. The police told her to come with them
in order to discuss the situation. This is how Ms. Ning was arrested. When the
family heard this, they requested her release, but the guards refused. The
guards told the family to ask for her release at the Bayuquan Domestic Security
Division. The following people are known to have participated in the persecution.
Practitioners are requested to supplement the missing information. Bayuquan Domestic Security Division: 86-417-6217505
