Case Description:

Sixty-three-year-old Ms. Yang Jingyun, formerly the Women's Division President of Qing'an County Trade Union in Heilongjiang Province, was an exemplary worker for nearly forty years. Prior to her retirement, she had suffered a long history of heart disease, gallstones, bladder infections and arthritis. Upon retiring, she was so pleased to have begun practicing Falun Dafa. She applied self-disciplined according to "Truthfulness-Compassion-Tolerance," and gained much mental and physical benefits. When all her illnesses disappeared, her friends and family all felt the miraculous power of Falun Dafa.

She had been harassed many times since July 20, 1999, and was forced to give up her practice. She had been living in a state of constant terror, and suffered the trauma of continuous psychological coercion. Her family endured incredible hardship because of Jiang Zemin's persecution campaign.

In mid-September, 2002, she proclaimed the justice of her faith in "Truthfulness-Compassion-Tolerance," while letting her hometown folks know the truth of how Falun Dafa is being slandered. She was arrested by police officer Diao while clarifying the truth in Wangjiaweizi Village, Yuanbao Township, Qing'an County. She was detained at the County Police Station for several days, and after being extorted for 3,000 Yuan1, was released.

Her family did not understand her. People who had been deceived by the media propaganda did not understand her. She had even lost the freedom to read the Falun Dafa books and do exercises at home. She was left in a state of confusion. As a result, she became extremely fatigued, and her mind was filled with worry and depression, as if her mind had become imprisoned.

Under such psychological torture, Ms. Yang began to get thinner and thinner, her face became jaundiced yellow and her abdomen swelled to distention. She had difficulty breathing and was sick in bed. The doctor's examination found that all of her vital signs were normal. No one could diagnose the illness that she was suffering. The doctors guessed that she might have developed a tumor, cirrhosis of the liver, or a general liver failure that caused fluid to accumulate in the abdomen.

On November 6, 2002, Ms. Yang Jingyun quietly passed away.
