Falun Gong practitioner Mr. Zhou Dehong, 78 years old, was a resident at Quankou Village, Lanlong Township in Hengyang County, Henan Province. On June 18, 2000 he went to Beijing to appeal for Falun Gong. He displayed a banner on Tiananmen Square and was kicked and beaten by the police on the spot. The police used high voltage electric batons to shock him all over his body. In an instant, blood poured from this elderly man's mouth. He was dizzy and he almost fainted. After being tormented with this torture device, he was sent to the Tiananmen police precinct. The police there once again violently beat the elderly man. His right eye was hit so badly that it became a swollen bump. There were many bruises on his face and his chest was badly injured. After being sent to Hengyang administrative liaison office in Beijing to be detained for three days, he was taken back to Hengyang County, and detained for another 15 days. Furthermore, he was fined 5,500 Yuan (the detention center took 5000 Yuan and Quankou Village took 500 Yuan) (1). After he was released, the old man stayed at home to recuperate. He suffered constant pain in his swollen chest and he often vomited blood. He could not eat properly. Zhou Dehong finally died with injustice in his heart at 5:30 p.m. on December 6, 2003.
