(Minghui.org) Mr. Yu You works at Beixin Farm in Qitaihe City, Heilongjiang Province. Because he refused to give up practicing Falun Dafa, he was arrested and detained four times and imprisoned for six years. While imprisoned, he was brutally beaten, handcuffed behind his back, shocked with electric batons, held in solitary, forced to do manual labor, and subjected many other sinister means of torture that he cannot even describe. Recalling them even now still terrifies him. He still suffers pain in his back and torso, limiting his movement.
The following is Mr. Yu's account:
I am 52 years old and live at Beixin Farm. Before I started practicing Falun Dafa in 1996, I was tormented by numerous diseases. I would have believed in anything that could cure me, like acupuncture or even spirits. In the end, only Falun Dafa cured me and gave me the confidence and ability to live. Therefore, no matter how the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) slanders Dafa, I will always believe in Dafa.
In 2003 the farm was relocated. I was arrested for "obstructing justice," because I didn't agree with or accept the compensation provided by the farm for demolishing my apartment. When I was under arrest, my apartment was demolished by the CCP officials, who later shouted at me, “We're punishing you because you are a Falun Gong practitioner! You can sue us anywhere you want. There is no place where you can appeal.”
On March 28, 2003, practitioners in Beixin Farm hand-made and posted fliers that said, “Falun Dafa is good” and “Jiang Zemin is being tried around the globe.” They posted these fliers in many places. This put the authorities in a panic. A month later, I was arrested and taken to a local police station, where I was handcuffed, beaten, slapped in the face, and shocked with electric batons on my stomach. After being detained for two months, I went on a hunger strike. Five days later I was released.
On May 30, 2005, I was arrested again in a hotel in Jixi City. My home was ransacked, and a printer, a computer, and over 10 satellite receivers were confiscated. I was held in Hongxinlong Detention Center with two other practitioners. We were handcuffed behind our backs and had our feet shackled with a chain that weighed 30 kilograms (approx. 66 pounds) for 35 days. I barely had any sleep in that period of time. On the 34 th day, officers Zhao Yinguang and Zhang Chunhua interrogated me. Zhao Yinguang pulled out a handgun, pointed it against my head, and threatened me: “I shoot you, then say that you were trying to steal my gun. How about that?” Since I told them nothing, I was illegally sentenced to six years and incarcerated in Jiamusi Prison.
Starting on January 20, 2009, I was forced to do manual labor in prison, packaging chopsticks used in restaurants. The chopsticks were disinfected with formaldehyde that caused everyone's noses to bleed every day after extended exposure. I had to package 7,000 pairs of chopsticks per day and was not allowed to rest until I was done. Guards can get a 2,000 yuan bonus if they “transform” a practitioner. Some of them who didn't know the facts about Dafa brutally persecuted practitioners.
In May 2009, guard Zhang Lei pressured me to write a guarantee statement several times. They planned to make me an example of a “transformed” practitioner and use me to “transform” other practitioners in the prison. He brought in a video camera and written confessions that slander Dafa, and told me to answer his questions according to the material. I kept silent and did not answer his questions. He got angry and ordered prisoner Zhang Feng to slap me in the face.
In June 2009, I was ordered to read articles that slandered Dafa, but I refused. Guards Su Jiafeng and Zhang Lei ordered three prisoners to beat me. My spine and right little finger were fractured; my face was severely bruised; and my lower right cheek sustained a 2-centimeter (approx. 0.8 inches) long cut. I could not move at all, but guard Su Jiafeng still forced me to work and confiscated my cash card. I asked for a medical exam several times, but was ignored. I was constantly physically abused and exploited by the guards. My back and torso still hurt, and it's hard for me to walk.
The “strict management team” in Jiamusi Prison specialized in persecuting practitioners who were not “transformed.” In January 2011 practitioners Qin Yueming, Liu Zhuanjiang, and Yu Yunjiang were persecuted to death within two weeks. Guards warned prisoners in meetings not to disclose such information to the outside.
I am only one of so many who have been and are being tortured in China because we believe in Falun Gong. Here I want to urge other practitioners who have suffered or are suffering to tell your story to help stop the persecution.
