Response to the 'Follow-Up Visit' – A Test of Practitioners' Human Notions

November 21, 2015 |   By a Dafa practitioner in China

(Minghui.Org) Recently, many Dafa practitioners in our area have encountered “follow-up visits” by police after they had filed criminal complaints against former dictator Jiang Zemin. We do not accept the old forces' arrangements. We thus should send forth righteous thoughts to eliminate any evil factors.

Practitioners' Responses to Follow-up Visits

The responses of practitioners to the visits have varied, and the outcomes depended upon how they expressed themselves.

One practitioner was deeply agitated when she was told her criminal complaint would not be delivered. She wept and said, “I will file the lawsuit even if I have to deliver it in Beijing myself.”

Two officers visited her, and they advised that she put away her Dafa materials before another team of officers arrived. When the police came, she calmly described to them the brutal persecution she endured in the past. As they left, the team leader said, “All right. We will not bother you if you practice Falun Gong at home.”

Another practitioner was visited by four police officers. She not only clarified the facts about Falun Gong to them, she also gave each of them a media player and sincerely said, “Please listen to the message and you will be saved.” The police quietly left.

An elderly practitioner was asked to report to the police station after she and her husband filed criminal complaints. She returned home with regret because she did not clarify the facts clearly to the police. She said, “I will surely have my husband with me next time. I want to show them how my husband recovered from thrombosis after practicing Falun Gong.”

One practitioner was instructed to report to the police station. There, officers showed her a copy of the criminal complaint she filed, and asked if anyone had written it for her. This practitioner said, “I did it myself. Every citizen has the right to sue. It is perfectly legal even if I had someone else write it for me. My father was persecuted to death. I have the right to sue Jiang.”

The police sneered at her. “Sure,” one said. “You can sue every person who has persecuted you. It is no use. We have already collected a bag full of complaint letters from Falun Gong practitioners.” In any event, she was released.

Police officers in their follow-up visit showed another practitioner the criminal complaint he filed with the Chinese Supreme Court and the Supreme People's Procuratorate. This practitioner immediately challenged the police on their actions. He emphasized that it is illegal for police to interfere in the lawsuits. This practitioner then clarified the facts about Falun Gong and explained the reason for the lawsuit. He reminded the officers that evildoing will meet with retribution.

One policeman said, “I am not your enemy. We were told by our supervisor to make the visit.” This practitioner admitted later that he did not meet the cultivation standards because he was too emotional, provocative, and lacked compassion when he talked to the officers.

Another practitioner was afraid. She was timid when police officers came to her home. As a result, they confiscated her Dafa books. She was also taken to the police station for questioning. However, she did have firm righteous thoughts. Her answer to the police was a firm “no” when asked to withdraw her lawsuit. The police then let her go.

Epilogue

The follow-up visit is a test of a practitioner's human notions. The responses from the practitioners differed according to their cultivation levels. Some practitioners had very good outcomes when they had a peaceful mind and selfless attitude to save the policemen.

On the other hand, some practitioners did not do that well when they they clarified the facts to policemen in an overly emotional way.

From our local practitioners' experiences, I have learned that the cultivation state of practitioners will be reflected in their manner when they express themselves to other people. We should follow the principles of Dafa and temper ourselves on our cultivation path.
