Paying Attention to Our Heart, Rather Than Being Attached to What We Do

Some practitioners were not diligent in the past. After realizing the gap and that lots of time has been wasted, they want to catch up, for example, by making some major achievements.

Nothing is wrong with wanting to catch up. But if one wants to do this simply by completing several major things, this type of thought is not pure and may not work.

Here's an example that could serve as a metaphor for the difference between this human world and other dimensions. Suppose a major explosion occurs at the bottom of the sea. It could cause dramatic changes on the sea floor or even create a new land formation. But as the force of this explosion moves up toward the surface of the water, it could appear as almost unnoticeable ripples. Similarly, a gust of wind could trigger huge waves on the surface of the ocean with no impact on the sea floor.

It is the same for the things we Dafa practitioners have been doing. Most of what we do appears similar to what everyday people are capable of doing. But the impact in other dimensions could be dramatically different. This includes telling someone about Falun Gong or asking them to quit the Chinese Communist Party (CCP).

Because of this, our thoughts are critical. If our hearts are pure and meet the requirements of the Fa, our actions and righteous thoughts can transcend many levels and save that person. If our thoughts are not pure and are mixed with human notions, they are likely to cause little impact in other dimensions.

We need to maintain righteous thoughts and be fully assimilated to the Fa. That way, our thoughts will be able to transcend the old cosmos into the new cosmos.

Divine beings at all levels are watching closely the things that occur in this society. Although they are aware of the arrangements, they are waiting to see how we Dafa disciples react to each situation and how we take the initiative to validate the Fa.

That requires us to have pure hearts and righteous thoughts. In everything we do, we need to ask ourselves: "Why are am I doing this? Why am I doing things this way? What is my goal?"

It takes effort to really do the three things well, but we have to meet the criteria.

Digging Out the Root

We have learned from the Fa that this human world is like a stage that is being displayed to sentient beings at different levels. So we should not be attached to the superficial phenomena in this dimension.

Some practitioners appear to have cultivated well, like genuine Dafa disciples. But deep in their hearts, these practitioners may not truly follow the Fa to cultivate. This is a really sad situation, because they came for the Fa and studied the Fa, but did not attain the Fa. In other words, they were not forged by the Fa into beings of the new cosmos.

One example is the issue of lust. One the surface, lust appears as an inappropriate sexual relationship between a man and a woman. Some practitioners may consider it safe to stay away from people of the opposite gender to avoid lust. This may work for a while, but there are loopholes in this, because the heart is not being cultivated. That is, the attachment still exists, but it is deeply buried.

This situation could have different manifestations at higher levels. For example, we could be too attached to our appearance and so on.

Cultivation is serious and we need to remove all our attachments, all the way to the root.
