(Minghui.org) Many Falun Gong practitioners are now exercising their legal right to sue Jiang Zemin for launching the persecution of Falun Gong and causing them great harm and tremendous suffering during the past 16 years. 

The Minghui website receives copies of criminal complaints against Jiang from many practitioners daily. In this report, we present a snapshot of four practitioners whose copies of lawsuits were received by Minghui on August 28-29, 2015.

These lawsuits are mailed to the Supreme People's Court and Supreme People's Procuratorate, which are required to process all criminal complaints filed by citizens, as of a recent ruling by the Supreme People's Court.

These four practitioners are Ms. Zhu Xiyu, an accountant; Mr. Pan Gang, a civil servant; Ms. Li Xuehua, a senior engineer; and Mr. Zhao Shujian, a military veteran.

Practitioner Ms. Zhu Xiyu (朱喜玉)

Key Facts

Ms. Zhu Xiyu, 61 and of Korean descent, just completed a four-year prison term in Jilin Province Women's Prison two months ago. Before then, she was incarcerated in forced labor camp three times, taken to a mental hospital twice and a brainwashing center five times.

She has been arrested 37 times, 25 times for holding Falun Gong banners or practicing Falun Gong exercises on Jindalai Square.

In the labor camp, Ms. Zhu was deprived of sleep, shocked with multiple electric batons more than ten times, cuffed to an iron chair for two days, detained in a solitary cell, force fed, tied down to a dead man's bed, and dragged down stairs.

The guards force fed her so severely that her nose bled, and then they threw her out into the snow, kicked her face and broke her front teeth.

A group of guards dragged her by the arms from the sixth floor to the ground floor many times. After that she was dragged to a workshop about 330 feet away, injuring her back. This was repeated over the course of many days.

She was injected with an unknown drug, force fed, and tied to a bed in the mental hospital.

On June 10, 2011, officials broke into her home, took her to a brainwashing center and attempted to force her to admit her “mistakes.” If she did, they would sentence her to only three years in prison, otherwise, they would sentence her to seven to eight years.

In prison, Ms. Zhu was tied to a bed and not allowed to use the restroom. A prisoner hung her up, tied her limbs to the corners of the bed frame, with several boxes placed under her body.

One time prisoners hung her up in bed for five nights, with her left foot and right hand tied to right frame, right foot and left hand tied to left middle frame.

Once she was not allowed to use the restroom for four days and she had no choice but relieve herself in her pants. One prisoner kicked her genital area violently many times over the course of several days.

Ms. Zhu was handcuffed for almost 12 months for shouting “Falun Dafa is good” and asking permission to do the Falun Gong exercises in prison.

This lawsuit was not delivered to the authorities until she mailed it out for the third time in another city. A worker at the Yanji City postal office told her that the local security bureau was monitoring the issue.

Current SituationMs. Jin Lihong was released on June 21, 2015.

Key Facts

Mr. Pan Gang, 57, a civil servant in Nong'an Local Taxation Bureau, Jilin Province suffered beatings, abuse and torture over the past 16 years. He was detained in three forced labor camps for three years between the New Year of 2001 and late 2005. The court secretly sentenced him to eight years of prison in 2011 and he is still incarcerated in Gongzhuling Prison.

His wife filed a criminal complaint against Jiang Zemin in June 2015 on his behalf and documented his persecution account.

During his first incarceration in the labor camp, his toenails fell off due to brutal forced labor. Police guards kicked him and broke one of his ribs. His cheekbones were broken and two front teeth were pried loose during brutal force-feeding. Police guards assaulted him with electric batons until he lost control of his bowels.

During his second incarceration in the labor camp, he was shocked with electric batons, detained in solitary for 33 days, and handcuffed for nine days until his wrists festered. Another tooth was pried out during force-feeding.

During his third incarceration in the labor camp, the labor camp head handcuffed him behind his back, and put a stick into the handcuffs so that it cut deeply into his flesh. He was handcuffed and hung up for 60 days, which caused him to faint several times. The torture deformed his feet and the rest of his body.

Mr. Pan's parents were placed under tremendous pressure due to the torture that he was suffering, and both passed away.

His work place has suspended his paycheck since July 1999. They didn't fire him, nor did they allow him to look for other jobs. This caused great difficulties to his family because he was their only financial support.

Current SituationMr. Pan is still incarcerated in Gongzhuling Prison. Guards told his wife that he is now detained in solitary and not allowed family visits.

Key Facts

Ms. Li Xuehua, 60, has been taken to the police station and detained many times. Police officers constantly harassed her and her family day and night.

Her supervisors repeatedly pressured her to give up the practice of Falun Gong. They threatened her: “If you continue practicing Falun Gong, the futures of your husband and child will be ruined.” They also constantly put pressure on her husband.

They assigned staff to monitor, follow and call her even during the Chinese New Year holidays. Her husband couldn't handle the pressure and asked for a divorce twice.

In 2009, her 92-year-old mother missed her and asked twice if she could plan a trip back to her hometown, but her request was denied.

Key Facts

Mr. Zhao Shujian, 35, started practicing Falun Gong at 16. He was a soldier when the persecution started in 1999. His superior officer forced him to read out loud an article that defamed Falun Gong in front of all the soldiers and officers in his brigade. He was forced to terminate his military service.

On July 20, 2000, he went to Beijing to tell the government the facts about Falun Gong, but was arrested and beaten. A policeman shocked him with electric batons and caused him tremendous pain both physically and spiritually.

Later he was detained in the Zhuanghe City Detention Center, where police officers instigated other detainees to torture him. The cell head force him to clean the toilet with his bare hands and struck him in the chest.

One detainee used cigarettes to burn his wrist and the scar is still clearly visible today.

Police officers extorted 6,000 yuan before releasing him. He was a veteran without any income at the time.

Current CircumstancesMr. Zhao is now free.

Background

In 1999, Jiang Zemin, as head of the Chinese Communist Party, overrode other Politburo standing committee members and launched the violent suppression of Falun Gong.

The persecution has led to the deaths of many Falun Gong practitioners in the past 16 years. More have been tortured for their belief and even killed for their organs. Jiang Zemin is directly responsible for the inception and continuation of the brutal persecution.

Under his personal direction, the Chinese Communist Party established an extralegal security organ, the “610 Office,” on June 10, 1999. The organization overrides police forces and the judicial system in carrying out Jiang's directive regarding Falun Gong: to ruin their reputations, cut off their financial resources, and destroy them physically.

Chinese law allows for citizens to be plaintiffs in criminal cases, and many practitioners are now exercising that right to file criminal complaints against the former dictator.
