(Minghui.org) Falun Gong practitioners in Hong Kong held a rally and parade on December 10, 2016, Human Rights Day, urging a stop to the suppression in China. The practitioners expressed hope that Jiang Zemin, the former Chinese leader who began the persecution of Falun Gong in 1999, will be held accountable for his crimes.

According to information from the Falun Gong Human Rights Working Group in Taiwan, over two million signatures have been collected in more than 28 countries to support the lawsuits against Jiang. Inside China, more than 250 million people have quit the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) and its affiliated organizations.

Several members from the Legislative Council of Hong Kong spoke at the rally. They expressed their opposition to the persecution and urged Leung Chun-ying, chief executive of Hong Kong, to stop extending the suppression to Hong Kong.

Open Letter from Falun Dafa Association

Hong Kong Falun Dafa Association spokesperson Kan Hung-cheung described how Leung had given pro-communist orders to attack and harass Falun Gong practitioners.

Falun Gong practitioners’ information displays at Hung Hom Train Station and Lok Ma Chau have been repeatedly besieged since June 10, 2012, by a newly formed pro-communist group, the Hong Kong Youth Care Association Limited (HKYCA). Members of this group have displayed many slanderous banners to mislead Mainland Chinese tourists.

In pink shirts, members of Hong Kong Youth Care Association tried to use a slanderous banner to cover a banner of local Falun Gong practitioners.

Lin Guo-an (blue T-shirt on the left), the vice president of HKYCA, grabs a bystander by the neck while another YCA member Xiao Xiaorong kicks him. This occurred July 14, 2013, after bystanders accused the on-site police for failing to enforce the law to protect Falun Gong practitioners.

In addition, a bomb threat led to the cancellation of an experience sharing conference in Hong Kong on January 17, 2016. When the 2016 International Chinese Classical Dance Competition took place earlier this year, the Asian Pacific Region Preliminary Competition was also canceled by the Hong Kong government. Other incidents included the attack of a printing office and harassment of Falun Gong practitioners.

These incidents happened after Leung took his office in in 2012. “Leung has continued Jiang's persecution policy and introduced it to Hong Kong,” said Kan, “Both he and his followers will be held responsible for their actions.” Leung recently announced that he would not run for another term.

Hong Kong Falun Dafa Association spokesperson Kan Hung-cheung urges an end to the organ harvesting from living Falun Gong practitioners in China.

In an open letter from the Hong Kong Falun Dafa Association, Kan called for more help from the public to stop the persecution of Falun Gong, especially the forced organ harvesting in China. For example, he pointed out that more physicians need to be informed of the atrocities, and laws need to be introduced to stop any activities related to forced organ harvesting.

Legislative Council Members: The Suppression Will Not Last Long

Leung Kwok-hung, one member of the Legislative Council of Hong Kong, said that, as soon as Leung Chun-ying leaves his current position, YCA would lack support and soon collapse. “We all know that YCA is closely related to the mafia, and any followers will go down for sure,” he said in front of YCA members on the site, who were yelling and screaming.

Richard Tsoi, secretary-general of the Hong Kong Federation of Students, said he admired Falun Gong practitioners for their spirit and perseverance. “Although there are still lots of things to do before justice prevails, we know the day will come and our efforts will not end in vain.”

Richard Tsoi, secretary-general of the Hong Kong Federation of Students, praised practitioners for safeguarding their righteous belief.

James Hon Lin Shan, spokesperson for the Defense Alliance of Hong Kong Liberty, said that the CCP has harmed a large number of Chinese people since the regime took power. “I feel bad that the YCA members are risking their future for small material interest. In fact, China will not have peace and freedom until the CCP is over.”

Chinese Advocates: Falun Gong Practitioners are Good People and Impose No Harm to Anyone

Huang Jinqiu, a Chinese news media expert, said Falun Gong practitioners are “good” and “sincere.” “By following the principles of Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance, they are pursuing traditional values and virtues. I don't think they will impose harm on any government or society.”

Since Falun Gong is well received in more than 100 countries except China, Huang said this has proven the benefits of the practice. “Many foreign governments are opposing the suppression in China. I hope the current Chinese leaders rethink this issue, stop the persecution, and hold the criminals responsible.”

Jing Chu, a well-known writer in China, praised practitioners for their courage and the tools they have developed to circumvent the Internet censorship. “The forced organ harvesting has undermined basic humanity. We are all shocked and angry.” He said such events in Hong Kong will help more people understand what is going on in China.

The rally concluded at 2:00 p.m., followed by a three-hour parade from Kings Road Playground to Sun Yat Sen Memorial Park. Many passersby read the banners and talked with practitioners to learn about the ongoing brutality in China.

Parade in the afternoon raises awareness about Falun Gong and calls for a stop to the atrocities in China.
