(Minghui.org) Today's news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 16 cities or counties in 10 provinces. According to this report, 2 Falun Gong practitioners were subjected to mistreatment during their detention, and at least 36 practitioners were illegally arrested.

1. [Jingmen City, Hubei Province] Four Practitioners Arrested
Ms. Peng Yaxin, Ms. Zhang Guangjie, Ms. He Shifeng, and Ms. Fu Chuanying from the Jingmen Petrochemical Company, were arrested when they drove to Geji Town to distribute Falun Gong informational materials on March 13, 2016.
2. [Shanghai] Mr. Gong Yanting Arrested
Mr. Gong Yanting was arrested on March 11, 2016. His whereabouts are unknown.
3. [Dongning City, Heilongjiang Province] Ms. Miao Pu Suffers Heart Condition in Prison
Ms. Maio Pu has been held in the No. 17 Ward in the Mudanjiang Prison. She suffered a heart condition due to the persecution. She was taken to the Mudanjiang Prison Hospital.
4. [Jinan City, Shandong Province] Mr. Yu Kejiang Arrested
Mr. Yu Kejiang was arrested on March 12, 2016.
5. [Mishan City, Heilongjiang Province] Four Practitioners Arrested
Ms. Zhang Chenghua, Mr. Liu Hui, and two other practitioners were arrested when telling people about Falun Gong on the morning of March 13, 2016. Ms. Zhang and Mr. Liu were released that evening. The other two practitioners were detained for 15 days.
6. [Xiyang County, Shanxi Province] Ms. Li Taolan Arrested
Ms. Li Taolan from Jingyang Village in Dongyetou Town was arrested by officers from the Dongyetou Town Police Station when distributing Falun Gong informational materials on the morning of March 13, 2016
7. [Kuancheng Manchu Autonomous County, Hebei Province] Mr. Ji Shisheng and Mr. Ji Shiman Detained
Mr. Ji Shisheng and Mr. Ji Shiman, from Kuancheng County, were taking a ride to Beijing to work on odd jobs on March 14, 2016. When checking their identification cards, police officers in Zunhua City arrested the two practitioners. Both practitioners were taken back to the Kuancheng County Domestic Security Division. They have not been released.

Mr. Pang Zengyuan, from Zhuangjiatuan Village, Jiaonanlangya Town, Huangdao District, was arrested when talking to people about Falun Gong at the Poli Town farmers market on March 12, 2016. His home was ransacked after his arrest.

9. [Yuanjiang City, Hunan Province] Ms. Hu Guixiang and Ms. Tang Aiyun Detained
Ms. Hu Guixiang and Ms. Tang Aiyun were reported to the police when posting Falun Gong informational materials on the afternoon of March 11, 2016. Both practitioners were arrested by officers from the Qingyunshan Police Station. They were taken to the Yiyang City No. 2 Detention Center.

10. [Shanghai] Ms. Xu Yongqing Arrested
Ms. Xu Yongqing from Xuhui District was arrested by officers from the Xujiahui Police Station on March 14, 2016.

11. [Jixi City, Heilongjang Province] Mr. Liu Xuegang Tortured in Prison
Mr. Liu Xuegang was denied family visits while imprisoned for practicing Falun Gong. When his family was finally allowed to see him in November 2010, they were shocked to see his eyes swollen from beatings. They worried that he might have been subjected to other forms of abuse as well.
Mr. Liu was sentenced to 8 years in November 2009, four months after he was seized from home together with his wife. He was first sent to Jixi Prison on February 1, 2010 before being transferred to Jiamuxi Prison on March 25 that year. His family went to Jiamusi on three occasions, only to be declined visits with him. In order to see him, his brother eventually gave in to the guards' demand and said slanderous words about Falun Gong.
12. [Chifeng, Inner Mongolia] Eight Practitioners Arrested for Suing Jiang Zemin
Eight Chifeng residents are confirmed to have been arrested since January this year for suing former Chinese dictator Jiang Zemin.
Bai Xiuyun from Yingzi Village and Zhang Shaolian from Shanzuizi Village were arrested on January 31.
Fu Haiyan from Xiahuang Village and another practitioner whose name remains to be known were arrested on February 1.
Ms. Meng Qingli from Aohan Banner was arrested on March 2. She remains detained at Aohan Banner Police Department.
Shang Fenghua from Songshan District was arrested on March 3.
Ms. Zhao Shulan and her husband from Yuanbaoshan District were returning home on March 7 when several officers came out of nowhere and ransacked their home. Ms. Zhao was later taken into custody.
Ms. Ma Xiuli from Yuanbaoshan district was arrested on March 11.
Mr. Liu's condition in the prison remains unknown. His wife is also serving 8 years for the same reason.
13. [Shenyang, Liaoning Province] Mr. Ouyang Hongbo Taken to Prison
Mr. Ouyang Hongbo was sentenced to six years in late November 2015 for practicing Falun Gong. Shenyang Prison at first refused to admit him, citing his poor health condition, but it reversed course one week later.
Without informing his family, the detention center where Mr. Ouyang had been held since his arrest transferred him to prison on March 1, 2016. When his loved ones found out one week later, they rushed to the prison to see him. The guards, however, used various excuses to deny family visits. It wasn't until a few days later that the prison informed the family of a future visit date.
14. [Beijing] Ms. Huang Ronghua Secretly Sentenced
Ms. Huang Ronghua was secretly tried and sentenced to one and half years for refusing to give up her faith in Falun Gong. When her family learned about her verdict, they had already missed the deadline for filing an appeal.
Ms. Huang was leaving her home on April 19, 2015 when she was seized by a group of officers. They dragged her into their police car before going back to ransack her home.
She remains detained at Nihe Detention Center. It is said she may be transferred to Daxing Women's Prison soon.
15. [Harbin, Heilongjiang Province] Mr. Li Runhua Sentenced to Three Years' Imprisonment
Mr. Li Runhua was secretly tried and given three years in late February of this year for practicing Falun Gong. The 64-year-old resident from Hulan District was arrested on June 29, 2015 and initially given 15 days of detention. The authorities, however, refused to release him upon his term expiration. He was transferred to Hulan Detention Center, where he remained until he was recently sent to Hulan Prison.
16. [Chifeng, Inner Mongolia] Seven Practitioners Still Detained
The Songshan District Court Illegally tried Mr. Qu Yazhong, Ms. Wei Guoyu, Ms. Wang Jinrong and Ms. Zhang Chunyan on December 24, 2015. The four practitioners have been held in the Wenzhong Detention Center for more than 7 months.
Mr. Gao Chong and Mr. Hu Junyou were arrested on December 4, 2015. Their families learned in January 2016 that the arrest had been approved.
Ms. Pan Lijuan's family recently received the notification of her trial.
17. [Xinye County, Henan Province] Mr. Zhang Linzhao Facing Trial
Mr. Zhang Linzhao was arrested by Peng Zenglan and Chen Changjiang from the Xinye Domestic Security Division and officers from the Lihepu Town Police Station on the morning of August 20, 2015. His home was ransacked. He has been held in a detention center.
His case has been submitted to the Xinye Court. The court scheduled a trial against him on March 15, 2016.
18. [Jiangyin, Jiangsu Province] Ms. Chen Meifen Facing Trial
Ms. Chen Meifen, 65, received a call from the court on March 7, 2016, requesting her to go to the court on March 10. She was likely facing trial.
Ms. Chen and her brother Chen Yongliang were reported to police while distributing informational material about Falun Gong on March 12, 2015. Mr. Chen Yongliang was arrested on the next day and tortured in the Changjing Police Station for two days. He was released on March 17 and passed away 43 days later. Ms. Chen was arrested on March 18, 2015 and released the next day.
Ms. Chen mailed a criminal complaint against Jiang Zemin on July 16, 2015. The 610 Office personnel informed her in August 2015 that she would be sentenced because of suing Jiang Zemin.
