(Minghui.org) Ms. Li Qingzhi, nearly 80, has been hospitalized for over two months after being forced by local officials to perform patrol duty in below-freezing temperatures.

Ms. Li lives in the Jianye District of Nanjing, Jiangsu Province. Because she practices Falun Gong, she has been targeted by her residential committees and officers from the Nanhu Police Station. She was forced to go to many brainwashing sessions held by the neighborhood committee. Police also ransacked her home and took her computer, DVD burner, and other personal belongings.

Local officials forced her to perform patrol duty on the streets every day, including during the hottest times of summer and the coldest times of winter. The long hours of forced patrol severely harmed Ms. Li's health. While she patrolled near the Nanjing Massacre Memorial Hall, she collapsed from extreme cold and fatigue.

On the afternoon of December 14, other Falun Gong practitioners in the area came to check on her and help take care of her. When local officials discovered that other practitioners were helping Ms. Li, they sent a dozen police officers, who broke in to Ms. Li's home and arrested all the practitioners present, including Ms. Wu Aifang, Mr. Zhang Shihua, Xie Jinsheng, and Jiang Yafen. The officers proceeded to ransack Ms. Li's home again.
