Ms. Ma Yuanjun, originally from Henan Province, went to Hefei City, Anhui Province, in 2013 to take care of her grandson at her daughter’s home. She was reported to the police for talking to people about Falun Gong and distributing Falun Gong materials in September 2019. She was arrested by officers from the Jinggang Police Station in the Shushan District in Hefei City. The police ransacked her daughter’s home and confiscated a computer and a printer. 4. [Daqing City, Heilongjiang Province] Eleven Falun Gong Practitioners Arrested and Four Harassed in July 2022

It was recently confirmed by Minghui.org that 11 Falun Gong practitioners in the Dengfeng Home Community in the Sartu District of Daqing City were arrested on July 12, 2022 by Li Chengbin and other officers from the Tieren Police Station. Their arrests were part of a mass police sweep in Daqing on that day, under orders from Song Hongyuan, the new chief of the Daqing City Police Department.

All 11 practitioners had their homes ransacked and their Falun Gong books and portraits of Falun Gong’s founder confiscated. They were briefly detained at the police station before being released on bail. It’s not clear if the police cleared them or submitted their cases to the procuratorate before conditions of their bail expired in July 2023.

In addition to these 11, four more practitioners were harassed around the same time.

In 2023, officer Li continued to harass Falun Gong practitioners, most of them in their 70s and 80s, in his distrct. One elderly female practitioner was taken to the Daqing City Lockup after her arrest, but was denied admission due to her poor health. Another practitioner in her 70s developed a medical condition after her arrest and was released. Several of the elderly practitioners were so traumatized by the arrests and harassment that they passed away shortly after.
