(Minghui.org) While the persecution continues in China, we should never become complacent about security.
After some practitioners were harassed or released from detention centers, their family members installed surveillance cameras near their front door to keep an eye out for any police coming to harass them. While this isn’t itself a problem, some of these practitioners hosted Fa-study groups in their homes, which meant that visiting practitioners would be recorded on video as they came and went. If the video recordings weren’t immediately deleted, it would certainly be a significant security risk to anyone visiting for Fa study.
When I tried to persuade these practitioners to pay attention to potential security risks from their surveillance cameras, they replied, “Don’t worry. As long as I send forth righteous thoughts, it will be fine.”
I reminded them that Master has warned us so many times that our cell phones are tracking devices, not to mention their surveillance cameras. If they don’t immediately delete recordings of other practitioners visiting, won’t it be available for the police if they come? If they think their righteous thoughts are strong enough to protect themselves and others, then why were they persecuted in the first place? They might believe that their righteous thoughts overcame their own persecution, but did they think about how much Master Li (Dafa’s founder) had to sacrifice for them? If we can all follow Master’s guidance in the matter of security, it would eliminate many unnecessary tribulations and cause less trouble for Master.
I notice that some practitioners still call each other on their cellphones and discuss confidential information about other practitioners or our projects. These practitioners really should not excuse their behavior by saying they have “strong righteous thoughts” or accuse other practitioners of having fear, when they are reminded to pay attention to cellphone security. There have been too many bitter lessons in the past about this.
I truly hope that we can all give the highest priority to security issues, so we cause less trouble for Master.
