(Minghui.org) Falun Dafa practitioners gathered in Westlake Park in downtown Seattle on July 15, 2023, to mourn the practitioners in China who have been persecuted to death by the CCP (Chinese Communist Party) over the past 24 years.

They asked people to work together to help stop the persecution. They also demonstrated the Falun Dafa exercises.

Former CCP leader Jiang Zemin launched the relentless persecution of Falun Dafa practitioners who practice Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance on July 20, 1999. Millions of practitioners in China have since been illegally arrested, sentenced, and deprived of their rights. Countless practitioners were tortured to death and even had their organs harvested while they were still alive.

The CCP has kept up the persecution for 24 years, but Falun Dafa practitioners have not been defeated. Around July 20 every year, practitioners all over the world hold parades, rallies, and other activities to expose the CCP’s crimes and call on the international community to stop the persecution of practitioners in China, including its harvesting of organs from living practitioners.

People Sign to Support Practitioners’ Raising Awareness of the Persecution

After Kelly, who is from Seattle, learned about Falun Dafa and the persecution in China at the event, she said that the CCP’s negligence in sharing information about the epidemic really affected many people in the United States. She thinks collecting signatures to end the CCP is important, because she believes that the bad things the CCP regime does will likely affect the lives of the American people again in the future.

Emmy was shocked when she heard about the persecution. She couldn’t understand why, in today’s world, a government would do such a thing. When she heard that many practitioners in China did not have passports and thus could not leave China, she looked at those doing the exercises and said, “I am very glad that you could leave China.” Emmy and her son expressed their gratitude and best wishes to the practitioners who let people know the truth. Emmy said she hoped that the persecution of Falun Dafa would end as soon as possible.

Background: What Is Falun Dafa and Why Is the CCP Persecuting It?

Falun Dafa, also known as Falun Gong, was first introduced to the public by Mr. Li Hongzhi in Changchun, China, in 1992. The spiritual discipline is now practiced in more than 100 countries and regions worldwide. Millions of people who have embraced the teachings, which are based on the principles of Truthfulness, Compassion, and Forbearance, and have learned the five exercises have experienced improved health and well-being.

Jiang Zemin, former head of the Chinese Communist Party (CCP), perceived the spiritual discipline’s growing popularity as a threat to the CCP’s atheistic ideology, and on July 20, 1999, he issued an order to eradicate the practice.

Under Jiang’s personal direction, the CCP established the 610 Office, an extralegal security organization with the power to override the police and judicial systems and whose sole function is to carry out the persecution of Falun Dafa.

Minghui.org has confirmed the deaths of thousands of practitioners as a result of the persecution over the past 24 years. The actual number is believed to be much higher. Countless practitioners have been imprisoned and tortured for their faith.

There is concrete evidence that the CCP sanctions the harvesting of organs from detained practitioners, who are murdered to supply China’s organ transplant industry.
