(Minghui.org) On the occasion of the 24th anniversary of Falun Gong’s peaceful and rational protest to the Chinese Communist Party’s (CCP) persecution, Falun Gong practitioners in Saipan held a candlelight vigil on July 20, 2023. They set up display boards and banners exposing the CCP’s 24-year brutal persecution of Falun Gong, calling on governments and people around the world to work together to stop the CCP’s persecution, and organ harvesting from living Falun Gong practitioners.
The practitioners demonstrated the Falun Gong sitting meditation. At 7:50 pm, the practitioners lit candles to mourn the practitioners who were persecuted to death by the CCP for their belief. The scene was solemn and peaceful. The vehicles passing by slowed down, and some stopped to watch.

Mr. Peng, a Chinese, talked with a practitioner for a long time. He said with emotion: “I don’t care about world affairs at all, but the Chinese people believe that good will be rewarded and evil meets retribution.” The practitioner told him how the CCP-staged Tiananmen self-immolation incident in order to defame Falun Gong and the CCP’s live organ harvesting.
The practitioner also told him that it is wise to recognize the nature of the CCP and not to associate with it. There is no middle ground in the choice between good and evil, and choosing kindness is a good thing for future generations. Mr. Peng readily agreed and quit the Communist Young Pioneers and other CCP-related organizations.
Background: What Is Falun Dafa and Why is the CCP persecuting it?
Falun Dafa (also known as Falun Gong) was first introduced to the public by Mr. Li Hongzhi in Changchun, China, in 1992. The spiritual discipline is now practiced in over 100 countries and regions worldwide. Millions of people who have embraced the teachings, which are based on the principles of Truthfulness, Compassion, and Forbearance, and have learned the five exercises, have experienced improved health and well-being.
Jiang Zemin, former head of the Chinese Communist Party (CCP), perceived the spiritual discipline’s growing popularity as a threat to the CCP’s atheistic ideology and on July 20, 1999, he issued an order to eradicate the practice.
Under Jiang’s personal direction, the CCP established the 610 Office, an extralegal security organization with the power to override the police and judicial systems and whose sole function is to carry out the persecution of Falun Dafa.
Minghui.org has confirmed the deaths of thousands of practitioners as a result of the persecution over the past 24 years. The actual number is believed to be much higher. Countless practitioners have been imprisoned and tortured for their faith.
There is concrete evidence that the CCP sanctions the harvesting of organs from detained practitioners, who are murdered to supply China’s organ transplant industry.
