(Minghui.org) Following the New Year of 2000, I went to Beijing with several Falun Dafa practitioners from my town to appeal for the right to practice our faith. We were arrested and taken back to a local detention center.

We were all detained in the same cell. For several months, we did not have any Dafa books to read. I asked my husband if he could bring some during his next family visit.

The detention center guards searched the cells for Dafa materials from time to time. During one search, I hid my Zhuan Falun (the main book of Falun Dafa) in the pocket of a vest and the guard did not find it. Other practitioners were not so fortunate and most of their books, including handwritten ones, were confiscated.

We were all sad about losing the books. I went to see the detention center director in his office and asked him what he did with the books. He said that he kept them in his desk drawers.

“Please keep these Dafa books safe,” I said. “You must not destroy the books because it will not be good for you.”

The director said, “I would like to take a look at them.”

A few days later, I was called to his office. The director respectfully took out the Dafa books from the drawers and returned them all to me. He wanted me to give the books back to the practitioners they belonged to.

Years later, after I was released from prison, I ran into this director on the street. I learned that he no longer worked in the detention center. It happened that practitioners around the world were suing Jiang Zemin, the former head of the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) who ordered the persecution, and I had given him some materials about it. He happily accepted the materials and said, “Jiang Zemin is so evil.” I was happy for him that he knew the truth.

Detention Center Guard Protects Dafa Books

A few months after the detention center director returned the Dafa books to us, we were given forced labor camp terms and transferred to the labor camp on June 15, 2000.

We clarified the facts about Dafa to the detention center guards while on the way to the labor camp. One of the guards, who was an instructor in the detention center, was friendly to us and listened carefully. As the car was approaching the labor camp, he whispered to me, “Give me your books and I will keep them for you.”

“But we need them in the labor camp,” I said.

While we waited in the yard for the labor camp guards to process the paperwork for our admission, this instructor came over and asked for the Dafa books again.

He said, “Give me all your books and I will take them to your family. The labor camp guards will rummage through your luggage, and you will not be able to bring them inside. Hurry up before it is too late.”

We felt that this instructor guard was sincere and handed all our books to him. We thanked him for keeping them safe. Sure enough, he packed all the books in small cardboard boxes and gave them to my husband.

A few years later, I came across this instructor and his wife on the street. I thanked him for keeping the Dafa books and taking them to my family. He told me that practitioners had given them Dafa materials in the past so they were well aware of the persecution.

Upon learning that he hadn’t quit the CCP, I said to him, “You are such a good person. You have a sense of justice. You have read many Dafa materials and understand the facts. I can help you both to quit the CCP and its affiliated organizations today. Denouncing the wicked Party will keep you safe when it’s brought to justice.”

They willingly quit the CCP with their real names and left pleased. I was happy for them.
