Romania: Raising Awareness of the 24-Year-Long Persecution of Falun Gong

Aug. 3, 2023 |   By a Falun Gong practitioner in Romania

(Minghui.org) Falun Gong practitioners in Romania participated in several events from July 20 to July 22, 2023, to mark the 24th anniversary of their peaceful protests against the Chinese Communist Party’s (CCP) persecution.

Falun Dafa practitioners staged a peaceful protest in front of the Chinese Embassy on July 20, 2023. They displayed banners and held portraits of victims of the persecution to convey the urgent message of the need to stop the abuse of practitioners in China.

On the evening of July 21, practitioners held a candlelight vigil in Calea Victoriei, by the statue of King Carol I. They sat while holding portraits of practitioners who were killed by the CCP.

On the evening of July 22, practitioners organized information events in the Old Centre of Bucharest and at the entrance to the King Michael I Park to inform the public about the 24-year-long persecution.

At all these events, practitioners distributed information materials and answered questions from passersby. Banners and display boards presented information about Falun Dafa and the CCP’s persecution.

Doctor: “It is Good for Romania That This Practice Exists in the Country.”

Two doctors, Alexandra, 31, and Andreea, 26, were touched by the candlelight vigil on the night of July 21. They were delighted to learn that Falun Dafa has been practiced in Romania for 24 years, but expressed regret that they had learned about the practice so late.

“It is very good for Romania that there is this practice in the country, for the awareness of people and especially young people—who are confronted with all kinds of information, videos, etc. on social platforms, with all kinds of temptations—that moral values are fundamental in society,” Alexandra said.

Being doctors, both were astounded that Chinese doctors, who have sworn an oath to defend life, are involved in harvesting organs from innocent practitioners, and that the organs are sold for profit under the direction of the authorities. “It is contrary to the ethics of doctors and this genocide must stop. As many people as possible should know about the persecution in China so that it can end,” Alexandra said.

Both women said that they would make these injustices known to their close friends and family.

“It’s sad that values like Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance are persecuted in China, and that should stop as soon as possible,” said Andreea. She suggested to Alexandra that they meet the practitioners at the practice site so that they can learn the Falun Dafa exercises.

A Boy and His Mother Learn About Falun Dafa

Rareș learns the Falun Gong exercises

Rareș, a little boy who was with his mother, saw practitioners doing the exercises at the July 22 information event. After hearing more about Falun Dafa from a practitioner, Rareș asked to learn the exercises.

When the practitioner introduced the principles of Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance to Rareș and his mother, the little boy and his mother said they agreed with the values. Rareș became excited and expressed that he already tries to live according to these values. “I do that all the time!” he said.

Both Rareș and his mother promised to visit the practitioners at their exercise site in King Michael I Park so that Rareș could do the exercises again.
