(Minghui.org) Celebrations for King Carl XVI Gustaf’s 50th anniversary were held in the capital Stockholm on September 15 and 16, 2023. Falun Dafa practitioners held activities on Mynttorget (the Coin Square) near the Royal Palace in central Stockholm and in front of the Nobel Prize Museum during the two-day event, which drew many passersby.
The grand events were attended by members of Sweden’s royal family. Hundreds of thousands of people watched the parade as the King and Queen passed through the streets of Stockholm in a horse-drawn carriage. The king’s motorcade passed through many scenic spots such as the bustling city center. Thousands of people lined the streets to congratulate him.
People who participated in the celebration were drawn by the peaceful music as practitioners did the Falun Dafa exercises, and some learned them on the spot. Many people accepted flyers and talked with practitioners to learn more about Falun Dafa and the Chinese Communist Party’s (CCP) persecution of the spiritual discipline, and some signed the petition calling to end the persecution.

The Public Supports Falun Dafa

Practitioners did the exercises and set up display boards at Mynttorget near the Royal Palace in Stockholm on September 15. People talked to practitioners and learned about the CCP’s persecution. Several people signed the petition to end the brutality.
When a Swedish man noticed the practitioners’ activity, he walked directly to the booth and signed the petition. He said, “I worked in the European Union, and I know about the persecution of Falun Dafa in China, especially the CCP’s organ harvesting from practitioners while they are alive. This must be stopped.
“Although today is a special day, I think the signature collection drive is the most important. So I must first get this done before I attend the activities over there.”

Some tourists from the UK carefully read the display boards and then listened as a practitioner described the persecution. After learning about the CCP’s organ harvesting from living Falun Dafa practitioners, they signed the petition. One man said, “We must sign this. We heard about the CCP’s violations of human rights, especially the suppression and persecution of people in Xinjiang, Tibet, Uyghurs, and Hong Kong. It is so evil. The CCP has indeed done many bad things. It must be stopped!”

After two of the young people signed the petition, they chatted with the practitioner for a long time. They said they were interested in such a peaceful practice and wanted to try it. So they followed the practitioners and tried the second set of Falun Gong exercises. They also asked their companions to take photos for them as a souvenir.
Event at the Nobel Prize Museum
On the afternoon of Saturday, September 16, practitioners set up a booth in front of the Nobel Prize Museum near the Royal Palace in Stockholm. Tourists from around the world talked with practitioners and learned about Falun Dafa. Many people were interested and wished to learn the exercises. Victor from Paris, France, was one of them.
After signing the petition, Victor told a practitioner in Chinese, “I don’t understand why things like organ harvesting happen. It’s cruel and unacceptable, so I want to sign the petition to help stop it.”
Victor said that he liked China very much and had always been interested in traditional Chinese culture. He taught himself Chinese online. The practitioner told him about Falun Dafa and the CCP’s 24-year-long persecution.
“You have done a very good job, which is to expose the evil deeds of the Chinese Communist Party so that more people will pay attention and stop it,” Victor said. “I agree with Truthfulness, Compassion, and Forbearance. I am particularly interested in Falun Dafa.”
The practitioner told him, “Practitioners often hold activities near the Eiffel Tower in Paris. There are many group practice sites in Paris where the exercises are taught for free. You can contact them at any time. You can also visit the Falun Dafa website to learn more details.” The practitioner also recommended he see Shen Yun, which showcases traditional Chinese culture and is world-renowned. He explained that Shen Yun has multiple shows in Paris every year.
Victor said happily, “This is great! I didn’t expect to get so much information. Thank you so much!”
