(Minghui.org) Yun Ling and I used to work in the same company before we started practicing Falun Dafa. I was outgoing, impulsive, and frank. Yun Ling was the opposite. She was gentle, spoke in a quiet voice, was kind, and thought a lot about world affairs. We are both lucky in that we practice Falun Dafa.
Falun Dafa practitioners started to counter the persecution, clarify the truth about Dafa, and save sentient beings after the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) launched the persecution of Falun Dafa in July 1999. Yun Ling and I have cooperated and clarified the truth to people together ever since we moved into the same residential compound by the end of 2016.
Yun Ling and I used to work at a county inn. CCP secretaries, directors. and county government officials from different townships and villages often attended meetings in the county center. They stayed in the inn, so we met and got to know many of these individuals.
Yun Ling and I retired many years ago. Most of the officials we knew had retired as well. Actually we couldn’t remember many of them since it had been a long time. When we came across people who looked familiar, we would approach them and asked them if they were so and so. If they said they were, we would clarify the truth to them and ask them to withdraw from the CCP and its youth organizations. If they said they weren’t, we would say, “ You look so familiar. We must have seen you somewhere.” Then we clarified the truth to them. We gave them the Nine Commentaries on the Communist Party and The Ultimate Goal of Communism booklets and asked them to read then carefully so they could truly understand the evil nature of the CCP and why it is important to quit.
One day we saw a street person sitting on the steps of a building. We went over to talk to him even though he smelled. We raised our voices a bit when we saw another man nearby so that he could hear us. The man who smelled said loudly, “People think I am stupid. Actually, I know things more clearly than many people. I totally believe what you told me just now.” The other man came over while we were talking, and Yun Ling helped him withdraw from the CCP.
One evening when we passed the guard house in the residential compound, a guard recognized us and asked us to come in. As soon as we sat down, a man in his 70s came in and shouted, “You are Falun Gong. Don’t say anything to me. I have a relative who died because she refused to take medicine.” Yun Ling told him that was not the case. He became more vitriolic and said even worse things. Yun Ling smiled at him the whole time. The man then slammed the door and left. The other man said, “He can choose to listen or not. Likewise, you can choose what you say to him.”
Incidents That Helped Me to Get Rid of Fear
I clearly recall three incidents I’d like to share.
One day a fast car stopped next to us while Yun Ling and I were putting truth-clarification fliers on the parked cars. A man got out of the car and asked what I had in my bag. I held my bag close to my chest and my heart beat faster. I tried to keep calm as I asked, “What do you mean?” He replied, “Do you have a car pendant?” I told him that I didn’t have one of those but I did have other materials. He happily accepted a pamphlet, thanked me, and left.
On another occasion Yun Ling and I went to the outer suburbs to clarify the truth. We saw some people working in the fields. One of them stuck his shovel into the ground and shouted at us, “Hello! Do you practice Falun Gong? Come here.” Yun Ling and I looked at each other and didn’t know what he meant. We went over to him and he said, “Tell me what you are doing here today.” That made us relax a bit. We asked Master to give us wisdom and strengthen us and then told him how the CCP promoted atheism after it came to power, how it has persecuted the Chinese people during it political campaigns, how it has damaged traditional cultures, and how it persecutes Falun Gong (also called Falun Dafa). We told them the meaning of quitting the CCP. One of them said, “I now understand. Please help me withdraw from the Young Pioneers.” We were surprised that we spoke so fluently that day. Thank you, Master, for your strengthening.
Yun Ling and I were putting a brochure in the handle of a parked car one day when the door suddenly opened and frightened us. The young man sneered, “I’m from the police station.” When we tried to clarify the truth to him, he said, “How dare you say these things to me? You are in danger.” I said jokingly, “We are not in danger at all.” When he asked why not, I said, “Because you are a good person. You wouldn’t persecute good people.” He laughed and told us to leave.
Thank you, Master, for your strengthening! Whenever there was a sudden incident, Master always reinforced our righteous thoughts and gave us wisdom.
Getting Good Results
My mother-in-law was sick for some time, and my sister-in-law came over to look after her. I got busy and didn’t have time to go out with Yun Ling, so she went by herself. She was very good and did well.
Yun Ling and I cooperated well for years. We had many xinxing conflicts because we were so different, but we knew that we should follow the Fa and look within. The conflicts were resolved quickly each time, and our xinxing improved.
Yun Ling told me that I used to say to her, “We are at different levels. Don’t measure me with your standard” and “We came from different places. I won’t force anything on you.” I felt ashamed of myself. I was so arrogant and hurt her. It was a stick warning to me.
Going forward, I will cultivate my xinxing and follow the Fa, cooperate well with other practitioners, clarify the truth, and save more sentient beings.
