(Minghui.org) My husband and I both had sons from our previous marriages. He was employed but didn’t own a house and had no savings. After we married, my husband moved in with me. I also arranged a good-paying job for his son through my older brother.
I married him because he would have a substantial pension and housing allowance upon retirement, which would help me pay off the 180,000 yuan debt left by my ex-husband. My son-in-law was in his thirties and now has a stable job, which was sufficient to support himself.
We lived frugally and, by 2014, we managed to pay off 80,000 yuan of our debt, but we still owed 100,000 yuan. However, we were able to save 110,000 yuan by the end of the year. When I asked my older brother for his account number so I could deposit the remaining 100,000 yuan debt into his account, he said he and his wife discussed the matter and decided not to take it. They said my son would soon start a family and may wish to buy a house, so they let us keep the money.
My husband’s son called and said he wanted to buy a house in another city and asked us for money. My husband wanted to give him all the money we saved. I hesitated and thought: Before we married, he promised that his son wouldn’t involve us financially, but things changed now. I knew I needed to conduct myself according to Master’s requirements. I married his father, so he is also my child.
Although I had a son of my own, I must not show any partiality. I withdrew an additional 10,000 yuan from my own account and together, with my husband’s savings, I sent 130,000 yuan to his son so he could buy a house.
When my husband’s son married two years later, we gave him an additional 50,000 yuan. However, I felt uneasy about it. A practitioner advised me to study the Fa. After his son married, my husband announced we should separate our incomes. He would pay for daily necessities, while I pay for my clothes and other personal things.
When my son bought a house and got married, my husband only contributed 20,000 yuan.
I couldn’t calm down. I knew I needed to focus on studying the Fa. His son visited when he was in the area on a business trip. Even though he was 36 years old and had a stable job, he didn’t bring us a gift. When he left, I gave him 2,000 yuan and a cashmere sweater. I also prepared fruit and snacks for him to take on the train. He acknowledged my kindness. I told him, “Your father and I have conflicts over money. If I didn’t practice Falun Dafa, I would have left him years ago.
“However, Master requires us to be better than ordinary people and always be considerate of others. Otherwise, I wouldn’t have given you 180,000 yuan, and I would have divided the money equally between you and my son.” I told him the truth about Falun Dafa, and he readily agreed to quit the CCP (Chinese Communist Party).
When I first started practicing, my husband was influenced by the CCP’s brainwashing and opposed my practice, he argued that the practitioners were involved in politics, and he threatened to divorce me. Being unable to intimidate me, he tried a softer approach and begged me to give up my cultivation, but nothing he did moved me.
My husband witnessed the tremendous changes in me after I began practicing. I considered his feelings and didn’t argue about money. He exclaimed, “Even though I treated you badly, you treat me kindly and do not hold any grudges. Those who practice Dafa are very good people.” When I suggested he quit the CCP, he agreed. He would often remind me to study the Fa and send righteous thoughts.
Saving People
I started practicing Falun Dafa in March 2014, and I went out with other practitioners to clarify the truth to people. I helped a school principal and some teachers quit the CCP. I tried to attend as many local events as possible. I once attended a wedding banquet and helped 28 people quit the CCP and its youth organizations.
Many people chose to do the three withdrawals after understanding the truth. When they thanked me, I would tell them, “Thank Master Li. He is the one who asked practitioners to help others.” Many would say, “Thank you, Master Li!” I know Master arranges everything, I just go around and talk to people.
Once when I went to a shopping mall, I noticed a mother and her son. The mother was shabbily dressed, and the child was eating a boxed lunch. I greeted her and, while we chatted, she told me she was a single mother and was under a lot of stress. Her health was poor, and they lived in a redevelopment area that was scheduled to be demolished.
The boy was in the third grade. As a teacher, I knew how to communicate with him and I helped him quit the Young Pioneer League. The mother was initially resistant, so I bought her a boxed lunch. While she ate, I patiently clarified the truth to her. In the end, she agreed to do the three withdrawals.
The boy said, “Mom, I dreamed about this lady last night. Her appearance and what she said was exactly the same as in my dream!” He said it with such a gentle tone and affectionate eyes. It’s obvious that Master already arranged everything, I just needed to open my mouth!
During a winter break from school, I clarified the truth to a government official whom I met on the street while walking. He refused to listen, but I followed him and kept talking. He suddenly stopped and asked me, “Do you live here?” I said, “No, I don’t.” He said, “Then why did you walk so far with me?”
I replied, “Although we just met, I felt a special connection with you. You must be a relative of mine from a past life. How can I be at ease if my relative hasn’t been saved? Nowadays, there are plenty of scams for money, but I’m just trying to offer you peace and safety.
“I just want people to understand the truth, quit the CCP and its youth organizations, choose a beautiful future, and stay safe.”
I recited Master’s poem to him,
“Talking of Karmic Bonds
In the vast sea of people, it’s hard to meetA smile encountered by chanceis from a karmic bondQuiet down your mind and hear the truthYou’ve waited millennia for these wordsThe saving Dafa is spreading in the worldEach word of the heavenly secrets is true” (Hong Yin III)
He sighed and said, “I’m a CCP member, and I’d like to quit.” I gave him a nickname. He said, “Thank you! It’s so cold today, you should go home!” After I left, he stood there watching me for a long time. I thanked Master. Another life was saved!
In December 2022, the CCP suddenly lifted the lock down, and COVID spread widely in China. Within a month, a big portion of the population was infected, and I also exhibited symptoms of an infection. Strangely, as long as I went out to clarify the truth and save people, the discomfort would disappear. After I studied the Fa each morning, I would go out to clarify the truth to people.
Despite the harsh weather and few pedestrians, Master arranged for me to meet people. I helped 116 people do the three withdrawals during the Chinese New Year holiday in 2023.
My cultivation journey has been an ongoing process of eliminating my attachments. However, my cultivation state is still not up to Master’s requirements. I have many attachments, such as seeking comfort, and being lazy. Please rest assured Master, I will rectify myself, follow Dafa’s teachings, save more people, and return home with you. I would also like to thank the other practitioners who provided opportunities for our group Fa study.
