(Minghui.org) Today's news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 10 cities or counties in 8 provinces, where at least 22 practitioners were recently persecuted for their belief.

1. [Qichun County, Hubei Province] Wang Chengfa Officially Arrested
Wang Chengfa, Wang Hong, and Tong Haiyan were reported to the police when they distributed information about Falun Gong on May 26, 2023. They were arrested by officers from the Guanyao Town Police Station. Wang Hong and Tong Haiyan were released after 10 days of administrative detention. Wang Chengfa was officially placed under arrest, and the case was turned over to Wuxue City Procuratorate.
2. [Dalian City, Liaoning Province] Ms. An Hongmei and Wang Litao Sentenced to Prison
Ms. An Hongmei and Wang Litao were reported to the police when they talked to people about Falun Gong near the Wanli Police Station on April 6, 2022. Four or five officers from the police station ransacked their homes. The officers confiscated Falun Gong books, audio players, and paper bills with Falun Gong facts printed on them. The two practitioners and their families suffered financial losses and mental strain.
Their cases were transferred back and forth between the police station and the procuratorate for over a year. On July 4, 2023, the Pulandian District Court sentenced Wang to two years in prison. Ms. An was sentenced to three years in prison to be served outside of prison.
3. [Chongqing] Mr. Dai Xianming Hospitalized
Ms. Xu Keqin of Yongchuan District received a letter on July 7, 2023, from her husband Mr. Dai Xianming who was in prison. She learned that he was severely abused. His blood sugar was so high that his life was in imminent danger. He had to be hospitalized for more than twelve days. He was taken back to the prison's No. 10 Ward.
4. [Shaoguan City, Guangdong Province] Ms. Deng Yudi Held in Detention Center
Ms. Deng Yudi, 57, was reported to the police while talking to people about and distributing information about Falun Gong in Zhoutian Town, Renhua County, on June 15, 2023. She was arrested and held in the Renhua County Detention Center for 15 days. She was arrested again and taken to the detention center on July 2. Later, officers from Shaoguan City Domestic Security Division ransacked several practitioners’ homes.
5. [Yushu City, Jilin Province] Li Chuanrong Arrested
Li Chuanrong from Erdao Village, Xinzhuang Township, was caught on surveillance cameras while distributing Minghui Weekly in July 2023. She was arrested by officers from the Yushu City 610 Office. The officers ransacked her home and confiscated a large number of printed materials. Further information is pending.
6. [Chengdu City, Sichuan Province] Ms. Gao Yonghui Arrested
Eight or nine people from the Fuqin Police Station and her residential community in the Jinniu District broke into Ms. Gao Yonghui’s home and arrested her at noon on July 11, 2023. They took her cell phone. Further details are pending.
7. [Gongzhuling City, Jilin Province] Four Practitioners Tried
Wang Li, Liu Guijie, Zhang Qian, and Luan Dewu were tried in the Gongzhuling City Court on July 10, 2023. Only three of the four practitioners' family members were allowed to attend the court session. The trial lasted about two hours, and one witness testified in court. The four practitioners described how wonderful and beneficial Falun Gong is, and how it spread around the world.
8. [Pingdu City, Shandong Province] Ms. Wang Zengmei Arrested
Ms. Wang Zengmei, in her 60s, from the Hanlinfu area, was arrested by officers from the Liyuan Police Station who arrived in a police car at 8 p.m. on July 10, 2023. She is being held in the police station.
9. [Baoding City, Hebei Province] Xia Jingmin Arrested
During the summer break, Zhaoqiu elementary school teacher Xia Jingmin told students and their parents on July 1, 2023, about the persecution of Falun Gong. She was reported to the police by a student’s parent and officers arrested her.
10. [Chongqing] Wang Chenglan Harassed
At 10:30 a.m. on July 5, 2023, there was a knock on the door of Wang Chenglan’s home in Hechuan District, and then five men and a woman forced their way in. They ransacked the place without showing any paperwork or giving any reason. They confiscated over 50 Falun Gong books, photos of the founder of Falun Gong, one video player, and four reading machines. At 11:30 a.m. Wang was taken to the Chayu Police Station for interrogation but returned home at 5:30 p.m. that afternoon.
11. [Yushu City, Jilin Province] Ms. Jiang Xuemei Held in Detention Center
Ms. Jiang Xuemei was arrested by the police while distributing Falun Gong materials on June 12, 2023. The officers ransacked her home and confiscated printed materials and paper bills with Falun Gong facts printed on them. Ms. Jiang is being held in the Yushu City Detention Center.
12. [Xi’an City, Shaanxi Province] Several Practitioners Harassed
On the morning of April 25, 2023, four officers from the Majiawan Police Station in Gaoling District went to the homes of Ms. Zhang Fang, Ms. Wang Xiuqin, and Ms. Chen Jufang in Longfengyuan Residential Community, Gaoling District, to harass them.
On May 18, six people from the community management office went to Ms. Zhang’s home and harassed her again.
On May 11 and 14, 2023, people from Jingwei Town, Gaoling District, went to the homes of Xue Yingying, Wang Yongduo, Zhang Huixia, and Zhao Guifang in the Jingxinyuan Residential Community, Jingwei Town, Gaoling District, and harassed them.
